Grange Primary School has taken part in the SA Chess Association competitions. The Junior C competitions are being hosted at Grange on a Friday after school. The competitions are facilitated by Alan Goldsmith, a leading player and chess teacher in SA. There are 7 rounds in the current competition with Round 1having us host one team from Henley, one from Fulham Gardens and 5 teams from Grange. We are expecting a team from West Beach Primary to join the competition in the next round which will make the competition even more exciting.
On a Tuesday morning from 8am-8:40am, students from R-7 also take part in a chess club, facilitated by Alan Goldsmith. Students learn strategic moves as well as play other students and have fun playing chess.
