Volunteers
Volunteers
At Grange Primary School, we highly value the involvement of parents, caregivers, grandparents and community members. Many parents and guardians choose to volunteer to support their child’s education. If you wish to volunteer in the classroom, assist on excursions or camps, help in the canteen, coach a sport team or join the Governing Council, you’ll need to register as a volunteer. This includes having a current “Working with Children Check,” a valid RRHAN-EC Certificate, the Volunteer General Induction, and completing the Volunteer Application form.
To learn more about relevant history screening and ensuring the safety of both yourself and the children, visit www.education.sa.gov.au/volunteers. Volunteers are responsible for keeping their registration up to date.
Working with Children Check
Getting a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a simple online process. You can complete it directly on the SA GOV Website , or you can ask front office staff to help initiate the process for you. If you’re unsure whether you need a WWCC for the role you’re applying for, please check with the front office staff for clarification. Your WWCC will be valid for five years, so make sure to keep a copy of your notification in a safe place with your personal records.
RRHAN-EC – Volunteer Training and Induction
The “Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education and Care” (RRHAN-EC) volunteer training and induction are mandatory for volunteering at our school. Please sign up to Plink to complete the General Induction and RRHAN-EC Fundamentals course.
Food Safety Training – Canteen Only
If you are volunteering to work in the canteen, then you are required to complete a Food Safety Course. The City of Charles Sturt recommends completing either the “I’m Alert” course or “DoFoodSafely“.
For more information you can visit the City of Charles Sturt Website
