In week 7, Mr Opolski took arguably the greatest cricket team ever assembled to play off against West Lakes and Westbourne Park. They were blessed with unbelievable cricket weather and the boys were all very keen to get stuck in!
We lost in a nail-biting finish against West Lakes, which dashed their chances of progressing further. Mr Opolski was really pleased with the boys attitude in the game against Westbourne Park. Everyone was getting a bowl and they changed the batting order around. With some remarkable individual efforts and great teamwork, they were convincingly beaten by a strong Westbourne Park. Mr Opolski was only moments away from shaving his moustache and subbing himself on – but figured he’d leave it up to the boys.
The boys behaviour, sportsmanship and attitude were fantastic and they had a wonderful day! Special thanks to our SSO Mark (our cricket guru) for umpiring and providing wisdom and encouragement. Another big thanks to Mr Ball for organising the event and our transport for the day – we are lucky to have him! Mr Opolski had a fantastic day and was incredibly proud of the boys for doing their best and being such a wonderful team for the day.
